What not to miss this semester!
The members of the FlynnArts
Dance Company work on
choreography for public
performance in a professional
environment—frequently to live music—with Artistic Director
Lynn Ellen Schimoler and skilled
peers. Styles of work are
drawn from modern, African,
improvisation, and jazz. A sincere
commitment is necessary, as
members rely on one another to be performance-ready.
Teens aged 15+ and adult dancers are eligible to audition each fall. Interested? Call 802-652-
4548, ext. 4 to arrange an audition time slot on either day.
FlynnArts Dance Company Open Rehersal of Twilight
and Formal Performance at First Night Burlington:
Friday, December 21 from 6:30 to 7 pm; Chase Dance Studio at the Flynn Center; FREE!
The FlynnArts Dance Company presents an open rehearsal of Lynn Ellen Schimoler's new piece Twilight and other movement excerpts. Come observe the workings of this small and dynamic modern dance company as they warm up and rehearse on Friday, December 21 from 6:30 to 7 pm in Chase Dance Studio at the Flynn Center (one door down from the Flynn marquee). Admission to the rehearsal is free (audience may come inside or feel free to observe through windows). Then catch the company in their formal performance at First Night Burlington on Monday, December 31 at 2 pm at Contois Auditorium.

LYNN ELLEN SCHIMOLER is an educator and choreographer
who earned her B.A. in dance from Bennington College. Her
background includes both modern and African forms, and
she also has an interest in improvisational movement studies,
Dunham technique, and collaboration with live musicians.
The Flynn’s dance program instills a lifelong love of dance, helping veteran dancers and first-timers alike experience the power of their bodies as expressive instruments and discover their unique movement capabilities. Classes cover a breadth of styles, teaching technique while helping students trust their own instincts—instilling confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Classes focus on process rather than product, but a year-end optional performance satisfies dancers’ desire to share their growth and hard work with family and friends. Our program is enhanced by connections to the world-class artists who perform on the Flynn MainStage and share their dance styles and ideas with FlynnArts students in masterclass settings. Drop-in students are permitted in teen/adult classes on a space-available basis for $16 per class. However, most classes fill up quickly with registered students, leaving no room for drop-ins. It is wise to secure a space in class by registering for the full semester.
