What not to miss this semester!
Thrilling adventures await our youngest actors when favorite
storybooks about the amazing natural world inspire
escapades into wild tropical rainforests, deep blue seas,
prehistoric times, and more! As daring explorers, deep-sea
divers, and brave storm-chasers, children learn to express
with their voices and bodies, to understand the role of actor
versus audience, and to work together as a team. Activities
plant seeds that take root as basic acting skills and blossom
into powerful imaginations!

CHONG-HO KIM studied at the Institute of Korean
Drama & Theatre and the National Performing Arts
Academy in Seoul before earning an M.F.A. in drama and
theater for youth from the University of Texas. She has
taught drama to children, college students, and teachers
across the United States and in Korea, including at UVM.
Our theater program emphasizes individual expression, creative choice, and FUN! Children’s classes build sequentially on the basics, while teens and adults can explore specific theater arts in greater depth (and shorter periods of time.) We keep class sizes small so everyone gets personal attention, and vary themes so that each semester challenges returning students as well as new ones. Performance opportunities let students try out their skills in front of supportive audiences of family and friends, and tours of the historic Flynn Theatre, discounts on world-class MainStage performances, and masterclasses with extraordinary visiting artists complement the strong core program.
